My Specialties

  • Every mother’s journey is unique, yet too often, maternity care is restricted by a one-size-fits-all approach that leaves women feeling unheard or unsupported. A personalised approach means I take the time to listen, understand, and connect with you — your preferences, concerns, and goals — and shape my care to meet your individual needs.

I work collaboratively with you, adapting to whatever circumstances arise, to ensure you feel informed and confident in making decisions about your body, your birth, and your baby. My aim is to support you and your family in the ways that matter most to you.

  • When I come to your home, I come as a guest. This cultivates a relationship of greater ease and trust, naturally developing in the privacy and comfort of your space. These intimate, unhurried appointments allow me to build a strong connection with you, your spouse, and your other children, reinforcing you and your family as central to your care.

Antenatal and postnatal appointments, and birth when planned, take place in your own home. I provide all referrals for pathology and imaging. Service areas include Bunbury, Busselton, Dunsborough, Margaret River and surrounds.

  • Giving birth at home offers an unparalleled sense of intimacy, allowing families to experience labour in a familiar and peaceful environment.  The integration of modern midwifery care into the homebirth setting is a distinct area of practice. My skills and approach are shaped by experience in both homebirth and hospital settings.

  • For women planning a hospital birth, I provide non-clinical midwifery support that complements your hospital care. I offer continuity, preparation, and a calm, informed presence—someone who knows you and understands how hospital maternity care works. The value is having a midwife focused on you, supporting clear communication, informed decision-making, and a more confident, supported hospital birth experience.

  • In some circumstances, medical doctors might form part of your care team. Navigating medical appointments, understanding complex medical information, and making informed decisions during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum can feel overwhelming. While providing you with midwifery care, I can help you navigate the maternity system, communicate complicated medical jargon, support whatever time you need for consideration and ensure you fully understand all of your options. I am your dedicated advocate.

With extensive experience across multiple Southwest hospitals, I have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the local public maternity services. I maintain strong, respectful relationships with my midwifery and obstetric colleagues if collaboration or transfer is required at any time.

  • Using my post-graduate research skills, I have the ability to engage with current evidence and communicate this information to clients. With a focus on education, I aim to empower you with knowledge to make informed decisions.

My practice recognises the human right to bodily autonomy, the right to informed consent and the right to refusal.

frequentyly asked questions

  • A private midwife is an endorsed, registered midwife who provides care independently rather than through a hospital maternity service. Care is arranged directly between you and your midwife, allowing continuity with one known practitioner throughout pregnancy, birth (where applicable), and the postnatal period.

Private midwives are regulated by AHPRA and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and practise in accordance with national standards and legislation. They may offer antenatal care, homebirth care, labour support for planned hospital births, and postnatal care, depending on the service model.

Endorsed privately practising midwives are authorised under National Law to prescribe certain medications and to refer for pathology and imaging, and they work collaboratively with GPs, obstetricians, and hospital services to ensure appropriate care and escalation when required.

  • A GP referral is not required to book care with a private midwife. You can contact me directly to arrange an appointment or enquiry.

Many women choose to see a midwife as soon as they find out they are pregnant, and midwifery care can be an appropriate first point of contact in early pregnancy. From there, any required referrals, investigations, or shared care can be coordinated as part of your ongoing care.

  • Midwifery care works alongside GP and obstetric care, with consultation and referral arranged as clinically indicated.

  • Yes. As an endorsed privately practising midwife, I can refer for routine blood tests and ultrasounds, and prescribe certain medications in accordance with national legislation and scope of practice.

Where additional investigations, medications, or specialist input are required, these are arranged in collaboration with your GP, obstetrician, or hospital maternity service.

  • I provide midwifery care across the South West of Western Australia, including Margaret River, Dunsborough, Busselton, Bunbury, and surrounding areas.

The Midwifery Clinic is based in a quiet rural setting in Yallingup. Women planning to give birth at any South West hospital, including Busselton or Bunbury, are welcome to attend the clinic for antenatal and postnatal care.

the midwifery clinic

  • These are complex case by case scenarios to discuss in detail.  However, in some cases planned home birth does move into hospital.  If this occurs, I will remain present as a support person, continuing to provide emotional and practical support, and advocacy.  This is a key feature of my care, where upon transfer the hospital-based midwives provide the necessary clinical care, while I provide non-clinical care to you and your supports.  You will be admitted into the hospital as a public patient under Medicare.

  • Yes. I can attend a planned hospital birth as part of complete midwifery care, providing continuous support during labour and birth.

In this setting, I attend in a supportive, non-clinical role, focused on you — offering continuity, informed support, and clear communication, while working respectfully alongside the hospital maternity team.

  • Yes. I understand that hiring a private midwife is a significant investment. Please contact me to discuss your individual situation.
